$30 Unclaimed and Updates

$30 Still Unclaimed – *edit* A. Marques of Technology Corner claimed the prize with a 78%… and here I thought I was some kind of an SEO guru :( Thanks alot ! ;)

Hey Folks, believe it or not, the $30 prize for the first to beat my SEO Quiz score of a measly 73% is still unclaimed. I KNOW I’m not that good, am I? :) That page has received just under 200 views and noone has claimed the $30. Give it a shot, I can assure you I’m no SEO guru!! You may have a very good chance of winning!! If you’re a well known SEO, don’t even think about it ;)

RSS Subscribers Up – Per my previous post about the 380% rise of RSS subscribers to this blog, it’s now at 88 after just over a month of serious blogging and still rising. Thanks for the support!

Adblock Plus Continues to Piss People Off – In case you missed it, I wrote a post about FireFox endorsing a new plugin that blocks all java based ads on our sites and blogs. I won’t go too much into it because my blood pressure is just about normal right now and I want to keep it that way, but other bloggers are still talking about it. (see my comment at the Cayman Host Blog) Mark Evans also wrote an article on Adblock Plus of which I whole-heartily agree.

John Chow Continues to Piss People Off – I recently criticized John Chow on his arrogant, self-serving method of doing reviews in my John Chow Review. Well, he’s done it again (a few times actually) but this time the reviewee wrote a report about it I just think that’s great!

BlogRush OverHyped? – After my initial post on “The Next Big Thing,” BlogRush and DealDotCom (OK two “next big things”) it looks like I may have been somewhat accurate. DealDotCom seems to be doing well (I purchased one of the products) and BlogRush seems to have been overhyped (is that a word?). I think it’s still too early to tell, but I’ve been seeing several BlogRush reviews, none were extremely positive.

Hi Josh – I’ve also heard bad things about blogrush, which didn’t surprise me. It seems like nobody is getting good clickthrough rates.

DealDotCom surprised me though. They seem to be offering some great products.

    Hi Josh,

78% on that SEO Quiz… You can read it at http://www.technology-corner.net/2007/how-well-do-you-know-seo.html

Do you think I can claim that prize?

Very nice contest by the way… I bet it brought some visitors your way.

I was gonna post mine too, but is it only the first person who posts that gets the prize (which it seems A. Marques did)?

Sorry for the delay and great job to those who beat my SEO score. Going by the comment time and date it looks like A. Marques won the $30. I’ve received your email. Look for your payment momentarily, great job!
    Catherin,

Yep, I think DDC is going to continue to be a big thing. I think of it like the WSO section of the Warrior Forum, which is always busy.

    Alvin,

No problem at all. I’ve never paid that guy for a review, but I don’t agree with much of what he does. I think what makes DDC great is the exposure and the fact that it seems like they’re picking good products to feature.

    Mark,

Yes it is the first person (A. Marques) who wins, but shoot me a link to a screenshot and I’ll give you a link for participating.

Ah, darn. When I went to Marques site and saw he won (and it was only one winner) I closed the results page (which I left open since posting my comment). I didn’t save a ss.

I did get 93% though, but if you want any kind of proof about my seo, just google “free ps3″, “free wii”, “free xbox 360″, or even “free psp” ;)

Thanks for the linkback Josh. Overhyped – not sure if it’s a word but I went with it :)
