Article Post Robot Review

October 3rd, 2007 | 20 comments

Article Post Robot Review I believe article post robot has been around for years so I guess I’m a little behind in times, but I just purchased it and I like to do a review for every product I purchase, especially when i really like the product, as I do APR.

For the longest time I was very selective with my article submissions and did it all manually. I strongly believe mass submission is still a bad idea, but after my interview with Tim Gorman I’ve changed my technique slightly.

I’m still selective, but I’ve decided to start submitting some of my articles to a wider collection of article directories. I think submitting to only a few is much better for direct traffic, but submitting to more sites will bring in more links, so I’m getting the best of both worlds by doing both. In other words about 1/4 will be submitted to around 40 of the best sites bringing in alot of links, while about 3/4 will continue to be submitted to only the top 4 or 5 bringing in long term traffic without fear of duplicate content.

Anyway, because of this I’ve decided to take Tim’s recommendation on Article Post Robot and I’m so glad I did. The software is amazing!

Of course the #1 reason why it’s so great is because it does exactly what it’s supposed to do; automatically submit to loads of article directories.

Here are some of the features I like:

- The ability to automatically rotate as many different titles and summaries as you want simply by putting them into a notepad document and uploading it (see figure 1 below). This helps in making your article a little more unique for each site.

- The option to auto submit or manual submit. I like this because depending on the topic of your article, it’s almost impossible for any program to pick the best category. It does allow you to choose categories before submitting, but if you want to submit to a subcategory it may not find it. Manual submission is still pretty cool. It logs you into each site, automatically puts all the details in and if it’s in an inappropriate category you simply change it, click submit and your off to the next site; very easy!

- The ability to add or remove article directories (see figure 2 below). You have only the article directories you want to submit to in your list. If you only want to submit a certain article to a few on your list, you just check those and uncheck the ones you don’t want to submit to.

- Although the grammar could use some work, the user manual (PDF) was extremely thorough. Everything was explained to the T and didn’t leave any question unanswered.

Here are the negatives that could use some work:

-edit- I got my affiliate link. It was rather confusing though. When I sign up to an affiliate program all I want is my affiliate link and a place to check stats, that’s it. They use JV Manager and I’m not familiar with that though so that may be my problem, but it seemed rather difficult to just get my affiliate link.

At $127 many of the people who really need this software can’t afford it. Although it’s worth every penny, I think they should lower their price to a more affordable number. If it were my software I’d offer it for around $60. However, if you can afford it, it’s a very good investment.

Overall Article Post Robot is an awesome program!! I’ll definitely be using it from here on out! If you want to get it heres the link http://ez-onlinemoney.com/recommends/APR.html

    Hey Josh,

Thanks for sharing this very helpful review. I would buy the product, if it’s only half the current price. You’re right, a bit too pricey for me.

Do you have a similar product I could buy for half the price? LOL.

    Hi Josh

This is a nice review of a product I considered buying a while back. In the end I settled on Article Submitter instead, largely because it was a lot cheaper. I’ve been pretty satisfied with it although I must admit to having got very lazy with articles and not published any in the past few months.

Article Submitter retails at $47 and might be a good alternative for folks who can’t stretch to the price of this one. It still allows you to submit to select directories, as many or as few as you like.

The best thing about it is, there is a free trial download so you can test drive it before laying out any money. –

Your review has reminded me that I should be doing more because I’ve gotten pretty lax with my article writing lately and know I should be doing more.

I’ve used semi-automated programs for article submission before, and I generally found them to be time consuming still. In the end I was using article marketer for awhile, and just hand submitting to ezine articles and the other major ones I’d handpicked out. I found that despite article marketers claims to submit to ezine articles, the articles were never approved by them. So, that’s something to keep in mind if you use that service. It’s better submitting by hand anyway as you can keep track of all the stats in your own account.

    Hi Rebecca,

If you want your articles to land in the correct categories of course there is not way to fully automate article submission. With APR though, even though I’m personally using the manual submission option it’s still MUCH quicker than doing it by hand. Time is a valuable thing!

I’ve used Article Marketer in the past and what i noticed is that a good majority of the sites they post your article to are of very low quality. Also, when the script is installed into these sites, it automatically creates categories unless you modify it and most of the sites do not. That means there are duplicate categories and everything is just a mess.

If you want the good link attribution of all the big sites I choose APR over hand submission. Submitting to 40 sites (that’s what i submit some of my articles to now) by hand would take me an hour or more. With APR it takes me about 8 minutes.

    Hello Josh

I came across your review of APR whilst trying to decide if it was a worthwhile investment or not and have decided to buy, your review tipping the balance as it were. I will be buying from your link so I hope you get the commission!!! If not let me know and i’ll give you whatever details you need to claim it.

I want to be able to get more exposure for our site and something that works automatically in the background is what i’m looking for so wish me luck!

On a seperate note would you be interested in reviewing our site? Just register as normal and in the referral box put Ian (both times) and your account willl be activated for free. We would really appreciate the review if you have time.

    Kindest regards
    Ian

    Josh,

Having just purchased APR, Im just interested to know why you use manual submission and not automatic.
Also, do you change the titles and author boxes for each directory?

    Thankyou
    Barb.

@ Barb – The only reason I do that is because I want to ensure the articles get in the correct category. APR does just as good a job selecting categories as any other software, but it’s nearly impossible for any automated system to select the more relevant category every time. It’s not a bid deal, just a personal preference.

I do use the rotating titles function and sometimes use the rotating summary function.

I typically submit a minimum of 20 articles per mini-site.

Thanks for the support. Just FYI, if you order through this blog you get a big discount ;)

    I saw that thanks.

One more question who does you headers? I bought the same template you use on your mortgage site (through your aff link) and saw you have more sites up with the same template but different headers then what comes with the package

@ RV – Sean Lowery does all of my graphics. He’s the one who created that template pack, but I have him do cutom header graphics from time to time, which is what you saw I’m sure.

I believe his main design service is pretty much booked up most of the time, but he recently started http://www.graphicsquick.com/

    Morning Josh!

Just a quick question about Article Post Robot and the other automatic article submission software.

As we all know, linking to a Link Farm” can actually destroy our credibility and sites.

How can I be certain that these software applications will not link to them?

    Thank you, Sir.

    Hi Allen,

Because we don’t submit to all of the sites the software has preloaded.

We submit only to credible article directories.

    Hi Josh,

Thanks a lot for this review and the big discount.

I just have an other question. Do you use the same pen name for all your niches or do you change that too? And if yes, is it possible to use different pen names with APR?

    Hi Daniel,

    No problem, glad to help.

I use a different pen name for most of my niches, not all, but most.

Each time you submit an article you fill in the author details manually, yes. It save the info from the last article, but you can just simply replace it.

    Hope that helps,
    Josh

    Hi Patrick,

I haven’t tried it… APR does the job for me, no need for any other program.
