Much love to you Josh. I made my first money online a little while back with your $5 a day Mini-Site Formula.

It's funny how I made my first dollars with a free report after spending so much money on paid products with no success. Go figure.

Hi Josh

Just thought I'd let you know that I've been trying out your $5/day formula properly (up until now I've been using article marketing to try and boost my main site's rankings).

It's amazing, i've picked my niche, set up my site, and submitted 8 articles to ezinearticles.com (nowhere else yet). Yesterday I got 10 visitors, 2 clicks, and $5.94 in earnings! I can't wait to see how the site performs when I've done all my submissions.

Thanks for your great information and guidance.

Hey Josh

First, thanks for the awesome guide. I'm just getting started with it and have a few questions.

Most importantly, can you give me a rough estimate on how long these mini-sites maintain that $5/day after the initial article submission traffic dries up?

Also, about how long does it take for the google serp traffic to take over for the submission traffic, and is there a gap in between?

@Dan;

I don't want to speak for Josh, but here is my $0.02

From my perspective, the important thing to realize is that this is a two part strategy. The initial traffic comes from articles. In some cases that traffic will fall off (although great articles may take on a life of their own and provide traffic for a long time).

Longer term, the backlinks from your articles will create good SE rankings for your long tail keywords. This can take a while (1-4 months in some cases), and depends on lots of things including how well you do in selecting keywords.

So, my advice (which you did not ask for) is to double check your target keywords and stay with it. If you are #1 in google for a search term, you can have that traffic every day for a long time with little maintainance.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for this, I've been trying it out and although it does work I don't know if writing all those articles is worth it just for $5 a day (for me anyway). Getting up to $5 a day is fine but my article traffic always seems to taper off after about a week or two.

OOPS one more thing. Can you explain more about judging if a site is an authority when you try to determine if phrase can work? Do you find that the bum guideline of seeing if there is 10,000 competing using quotes is a good mark for ezinearticles doing well in engines?

How do you determine "acheivable" when you look at Alexa? What numbers would you use?

Josh,

I would drop all sites from your account that have very low CTR’s and see if it makes a difference.

Can you explain what you meant by above sentence?

Also I find that the long tail phrases that I do well in ezinearticles as well as buzzle and other directories with are good for a bit but then when others use same phrase they will push down my pages deeper into google so I lose clicks. What do you do when that happens ?

Josh

Thanks for the reply. However I can't follow your advice since I only have 1 site at the moment!

Since posting the query yesterday I've had 4 clicks averaging $1.00 - so perhaps it was just a normal fluctuation.
