Getting links from them is icing on the cake, but if they are written well, with an enticing resource box, you will get "warm" visitors to your landing pages. I also get traffic from Urbanspoon, which allows you to place ratings boxes at the end of your restaurant review. For anyone who has a food blog or a travel blog, it's a great way to generate links. First off, most of the article directories have been disvalued by Google. Only 5 are really good.
