Getting links from them is icing on the cake, but if they are written well, with an enticing resource box, you will get "warm" visitors to your landing pages. First off, most of the article directories have been disvalued by Google. Only 5 are really good. Ezinearticles are a stickler about accepting articles and the rest take 50 days just to review one article. I rather stick to blog commenting and participating forums.
