I could understand Chuck Brown's intentions, where he tries to focus on the integrity of online business rather than prefer making quick money.Earning money is also about doing something useful for us and also to all those around us.

I just read this post ( I know a few days late, sorry) when it hit me, 'this is me!' I always feel intimidated by the whole Network Marketing thing. I am probably the most well read and knowledgeable person out there (joke!) but I have yet to DO something with all this knowledge. My fear is that some one has already done it , is doing it now, or it will be a project that collects nothing more than dust. Now I think, "hang on a minute", everyone who ever started in this internet online business did NOT come born with a click-able mouse in their hand. They had to learn just like I did, and just get it out there. So thank you, this is exactly what I am going to do. If at the end of the day I get some one else off their butt like you have done for me, it will have been worth it :)

Chuck,

The only thing I don't really like about some of the big players is the fact that the sole purpose of their newsletters are to promote. Most do not provide good info. They are just a means to make sales.

However, I write products that provide value. I want to:

1. Teach others something.
2. Make money

So, even if I don't approve of the way they run their newsletters, I'm still able to achieve #1 and #2 by talking them into promoting my ebook to their list.

btw, I would never ignore your 2 cents ;) If everyone agreed with everything life would be boring. I actually appreciate your way of digging into things and adding your opinion of things.

That's a good one. I'll remember to keep this in mind. I'm sure with enough effort everything will work out well.

I have no experience with JVs, and probably won't...so feel free to ignore my two cents' worth. But the products of those partnerships pretty much always leave me with an upset stomach...regurgitated techniques and manipulations. I'm not sure how many of these folks I'd want to partner with, even if I had a product to pump (I don't and won't).

I do think the concept of teaming up with others is pretty cool, though...and I'd like to see more people doing that...where they have differing talents, but interests in common. There are an awful lot of sites out there that seem to exist mostly as islands...and bloggers that are just out there preaching to an audience of 5 or less. There are so many amazing things that could be accomplished online, if people would team up in areas like: writing, programming, promotion, concept development, etc. Very few people have the chops to "do it all" for themselves. Most of us "major" in one area and just kind of fudge it the rest of the way.

That's probably outside the realm of the kind of JVs you'll be talking about...but I can see a lot more potential for value creation with that kind of thing than I can just getting a bunch of "venture buds" to hit up their mailing list to push a new ebook.

Anyway...I look forward to your post on the topic.
