380 Percent Increase in RSS Subscribers in 28 days
September 14th, 2007 | 12 comments
Although I created this blog almost 8 months ago, I didn’t get serious with it until about a month ago.
28 days ago this blog had a total of 18 RSS subscribers. Today it has 72 and that number, as you can see, is steadily growing. -edit- I believe it’s actually 400% ? I’m a mathematical dummy
I believe that the primary driving factor in the increase is the fact that I normally make at least one post every single day. Although it can be difficult to write an extremely interesting post day after day, I think I’m doing well making a good majority of my posts somewhat interesting.
18 to 72 in 28 days. I’m sure there have been many bloggers who have seen an increase far more amazing than that, but I’m very pleased.
If you’re not posting to your blog every single day, I hope these figures help you to change that.
I should also thank YOU for your frequent visits, thank you
You can count on many more interesting posts well into the future.

Good for you, man!
I think the increase in RSS subscriptions is due to several factors, including:
- the increase in quality and relevancy of your posts
- the end of summer, which means more people getting back to working on their business

Congrats on the growth!
I’ve gone up by about double over the last couple of weeks myself; mostly as a result of contributing a couple of posts to the Problogger 31 days to a better blog event they were holding. It also didn’t help that I had a couple of really good stumbles also

Nice job! It’s so rewarding to check your feedburner stats every morning and watch them grow. Keep doing what you’re doing, while putting yourself out there on other blogs, and you will see that number continue to increase

400% increase is brilliant Josh. Although I must admit I’m one of those who hasn’t got into RSS yet – I just use bookmarks. But I’ll subscribe as soon as I have set it up.

I’m the same way Catherine. I’m subscribed to a few feeds, but they are really just to support those bloggers. I keep up with most of them just by bookmarking them. I’m glad many people do use RSS though.

Congrats Josh! I know I was one of the few that joined within the last month. I “knew” who you were, but didn’t know you had a blog until recently. I just started worked on my blog in the last few weeks and it’s amazing what kind of traffic and response you can get with just a little bit of effort. I love blogging!

Congratulation man. I just started a little over a month ago and have around 10 the last time I checked.
I haven’t been worrying too much about subscribers, maybe I should now.

Cool, just checked and it’s at 18
Not too bad I guess.

Hi WarriorBlog (what’s your name anyway?) I think of RSS subscribers much in the same way as newsletter subscribers. These are people who voluntarily subscribed and they’re interested in what you have to say. That’s why I believe keeping a close eye on your subscribers is very important with blogs. It’s a great way to gauge it’s growth.
The growth, or lack there of, of your rss subscribers can tell you alot. If it seems to be halted, or it is decreasing then you know you need to do something different.
Congrats on the growth of your own blog

Great Josh,
I really liked the PDF’s $5 minisite you are sending out for free. I have bought ebooks that weren’t as good. Keep up the good work.
Thanks again,
Rick
